Adding multilingual support

Adding multilingual supportUnfortunately, at the moment BOT-T does not support multilingual functionality; you can only choose one specific language: Russian or English.

HOWEVER! There is a possible solution that would allow you to add language selection:

1) Create a menu with inline buttons and duplicate it in another language
2) This is fairly simple to do: you need to create the initial menu using free messages in a specific language
3) After we have created 2 menus in 2 languages, we need to create one more free message with two buttons, for example: "Choose a language/select a language" and below the text 2 buttons "Rus" and "Eng"; the menu in the corresponding language is linked to these buttons.

By following these instructions, you can simulate language selection for users.

What are free messages?

Creating a menu

Creating a menuHave you already figured out what “Free Messages” are? Great! Then let’s move on to creating an inline menu.

First of all, we need to go to the “Paid Settings” section through the bot’s dashboard, then create a free message and add buttons in the selected language; let’s use Russian as an example.

The screenshot shows a menu in one of the languages; be sure to rename the message (this is done to avoid confusion later). In turn, in each message attached to a button, be sure to add a “Back” button and link it to our first menu (the RU menu) so that the user can return to the previous step at any convenient moment, i.e. open the menu.

Add a second menu | Duplicate the main one

Add a second menu | Duplicate the main oneNext step - we duplicate the menu and translate the button texts and greeting into another language; there’s a small life hack! You can duplicate the menu in just a few clicks:

- Go back to free messages
- Click on the “three dots” next to our first created menu
- Click the “Duplicate” button

Done! We’ve created the second menu; all that’s left is to translate the buttons

Working with the product catalog in the sales bot

Working with the product catalog in the sales botPerhaps you may have already guessed, like with the menu, we need to duplicate the catalog in different languages.\

For this, we create 2 product categories and name them "Ru catalog" and "Eng catalog"; if you have non-unique products, simply duplicate the catalog content and translate it into another language.

But what should I do if I have a unique product?
There is a solution! Split part of the products into 2 parts and fill each catalog with its own part.

And similarly, we set up product templates and categories for the required languages.

Configuring language selection at the start of a chat with the bot

Configuring language selection at the start of a chat with the botTo configure the bot's subsequent language selection, go to "Greeting" via your project desktop.

Come up with any text encouraging the user to choose their preferred language, for example "Select a language | Выберите язык", and create buttons with the language names. Attach the previously created menus to each button.

Setup complete!
